Call today for a free 20-minute consultation. During this time you can let me know about yourself or your teen, and ask me questions to get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you.
I don’t believe that anyone should waste money on seeing whether I’m the right therapist for them. That’s why I have the following policy: If you decide in our first session that I'm not the right therapist for you, I will not charge you for the session. I'll ask you what you're looking for instead, so I can refer you to other high-quality Oakland and Berkeley therapists.
Fee
I charge on a sliding scale from $230 - $300 for a 50-minute session. This fee is consistent with those of other well-trained therapists in the Bay Area.
Insurance
I am considered an “out of network provider”. I can provide a monthly statement or superbill that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement. You may be eligible for reimbursement if you have a health insurance plan that covers out of network psychotherapy or if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA). Many of my clients get reimbursed a significant amount for each session.
If you are unsure about coverage, I suggest contacting your insurance company to ask them about your coverage for out of network, outpatient psychotherapy. I’m happy to discuss the process during our initial phone consultation.
Billing code: 90834
Cancellation Policy
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your session within 48 hours, you will be charged the normal full fee.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
